Explore Yourself, Rewrite Your Story

Individual Therapy

Feeling disconnected from who you truly are? Struggling with patterns that no longer serve you? Do you ever feel like you’re carrying more than you can put into words?

Life often asks us to carry more than we realize. Maybe you’ve been showing up for everyone else, but inside you feel drained, overlooked, or disconnected from who you really are. Or maybe you’ve noticed patterns — like pushing your needs aside, feeling unregulated in your emotions, or struggling with belonging — that keep resurfacing no matter how much you try to push them away.

Individual therapy at Rooted Change MFT is your space to pause, breathe, and begin untangling those pieces. Together, we’ll work to uncover the deeper roots of your challenges — whether that’s tied to identity, cultural expectations, faith, or personal history — so you can begin writing a story that feels true to you.

I specialize in supporting Black and Muslim clients who are navigating complex layers of identity and lived experience. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in cultural awareness, so you won’t have to explain or minimize parts of who you are. Instead, you’ll find a space that honors your whole self while gently challenging the patterns that no longer serve you.

Through our work together, you’ll gain clarity, tools to regulate and understand your emotions, and the confidence to prioritize your needs without guilt. Therapy is not about fixing you—it’s about helping you reclaim your voice, your strength, and the freedom to live as your authentic self.

How We Work Together

My approach is collaborative, intentional, and deeply grounding. I don’t believe in surface-level fixes. Instead, I help you slow down enough to notice your patterns, understand where they come from, and gently shift them in ways that align with your values. Sessions are a mix of reflection, exploration, and practical tools — so you leave not only with insight, but also with strategies to support real change in your daily life.

You’ll find therapy with me to be:

  • Rooted in cultural awareness – I bring my perspective as a Sudanese Muslim American, so you don’t have to explain or minimize parts of who you are.

  • Grounded in compassion and honesty – I’ll hold space for your full story while also gently challenging what no longer serves you.

  • Focused on meaningful growth – Together we aim not just for temporary relief, but for long-lasting transformation that feels sustainable.

Therapy is more than a conversation - it’s a space to uncover your roots, understand yourself, and step into clarity.
