About Me
I’m Roua Eltayeib, a licensed marriage and family therapist and a Sudanese Muslim American. I understand what it’s like to navigate complex, layered identities - feeling parts of yourself shift, fade, or go unrecognized, and longing for clarity, grounding, and a sense of rootedness. My own experiences have shaped how I approach therapy: with deep empathy, cultural humility, and a commitment to creating a safe space where you can explore who you truly are.
I guide clients in discovering the roots of their challenges, uncovering patterns that no longer serve them, and stepping into a fuller, more aligned version of themselves. I see therapy as a partnership - a space for honest reflection, intentional growth, and rewriting the narratives that weigh on you.
My Practice
The name Rooted Change reflects the heart of my work: growth that comes from understanding your roots. Change isn’t about surface-level fixes—it begins with uncovering where patterns, beliefs, and challenges originate, and then cultivating awareness, resilience, and intention from that foundation.
At Rooted Change Marriage & Family Therapy, my work is rooted in helping clients—particularly Black and Muslim individuals and couples—reconnect with themselves and their relationships in ways that feel authentic and aligned. Whether you’re exploring your identity, navigating emotional challenges, or strengthening connection in your partnership, therapy with me is about creating lasting, meaningful transformation from the ground up.
Here, you’ll find a space to show up fully, reflect without judgment, and prioritize your growth and well-being. Rooted understanding leads to real change: the kind that empowers you to rewrite old narratives, strengthen your relationships, and step into a life that reflects who you truly are.
